BEIJING: World Championships streamed on YouTube for the first time, sold-out at the Bird’s Nest

Conferenza Stampa PechinoThe Chinese National Convention Centre hosted this morning the pre-event conference of the World Championships which will start in two days only. The former IAAF president, Lamine Diack, was present and gave a presentation and thanking speech.

This year’s competition signed a record in the history of the meeting: the nations partecipating were 207 against the 203 which attended it in Moscow, two years ago, with 1931 athletes. Moreover, this is the biggest sport event in the whole world this year.

It will be possible to enjoy the challenges in streaming on the IAAF youtube channel, available in 108 countries. In total, 200 nations will be able to see the World Championships, including TV lives as well.



The athletes will have a large crowd to cheer for them, considering that the tickets for evening shows are sold out and many have been sold for the morning ones as well.

It will be a very interesting show for what regards the World Records which could possibly be beaten, without forgetting the Bolt – Gatlin challenge.

Numbers mentioned by Diack are quite relevant and auspicious for a rebirth of Athletics after the doping scandal.
