Yesterday in Brixen started the Italian U20 and U23 Championships. Almost 1600 athletes are competing in the green track placed among the Alps.
In the afternoon jumps have been in the center of the show thanks to the two WL conquered by Desiree Rossit in the high jump and by Marcell Jacobs in the long jump (unfortunately windy).
Desiree Rossit cleared the bar positioned at 1,97m reaching the first place in the world list. Rossit made almost the perfect competition, clearing all the jumps at the first attempt, except for one miss at 1.89m. After she tried to enter the 2.00m club, but without success. Here the progession: 1.75 – 1.79 – 1.85 – 1.89 – 1.94 – 1.97.

Some minutes before on the long jump lane Marcell Lamont Jacobs astonished the field landing three times over the 8m mark, the best at 8.48m. This measure would have been a World Lead and a National Record, had the wind been legal. In fact the competitions have been hitten by strong wind gusts that invalidated all the jumps.
Jacobs some weeks ago has been protagonist in the 100m of Gavardo Meeting running a good 10″23, letting fans wander how far could he jump with that speed.

Curious case: both the athletes compete for the same team, Fiamme Oro, the state police team.
